Bear Iron Works — Weekly Operations Update April 27, 2026

SAFETY

No safety incidents or concerns were reported this week. The operations team confirmed no unusual observations in the shop.

QUALITY & WARRANTY

Bear Iron Works is rolling out a comprehensive product safety labeling initiative across its full product line. New warning and handling stickers are being designed for:
  • Grizzly Rock Screens: Clear no-fork and bucket-lift-only handling labels on the middle rails, ensuring customers understand proper lifting procedures
  • Bedding Boxes: Do-not-lift-when-full warnings to prevent overloading during transport
  • Concrete Washout Tubs: Rated lift point indicators for safe crane and truck handling, plus disposal restriction labels to ensure only concrete waste is placed in the tubs — not chemicals or paint
  • Concrete Washout Pans (Skip Boxes): Even-load-distribution labels to prevent point loading
  • Bear Paw Attachments: Pinch point warnings on moving components
These stickers reinforce Bear Iron Works' commitment to jobsite safety and proper product use across all its concrete washout and screening equipment. No warranty issues were reported this week.

PRODUCTION & MATERIALS

Current production lead times are holding steady at approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks. The company continues to maintain inventory with its East Coast distribution partner for customers needing faster turnaround on Grizzly Rock Screens and Concrete Washout Tubs. On the materials side, the team has successfully negotiated extended payment terms with two key steel suppliers, reflecting the strong vendor relationships Bear Iron Works has built. One supplier provided a competitive new quote on Bedding Box cut kits, giving the team more flexibility in sourcing. Custom fabrication work continues to be a growing segment. The team is currently producing shooting range target systems, custom containment skates for a solar farm project in Utah, and table legs for a neighboring construction company. A request for 40 shade structures is also being evaluated for a construction client — these two-post overhead structures would require engineering and represent a significant production opportunity.

SALES & MARKET ACTIVITY

The sales team is actively following up on leads generated from the recent ConExpo trade show. A process improvement was identified in the CRM system that will route quoted leads more efficiently to the closing team, ensuring faster phone follow-up with high-intent prospects. Notably, Bear Iron Works recorded its first customer referred through an AI search engine. The customer used ChatGPT to research concrete washout solutions and was directed to Bear Iron Works, ultimately placing an order. While the AI initially recommended the wrong product size, the sales team quickly corrected the order and provided excellent service — a sign that Bear Iron Works' online presence is strong enough to surface in next-generation search tools. Active sales interest continues from government agencies, repeat customers in the VA system, and large general contractors working solar energy projects. The operations manager is also quoting force service skates for projects in Utah and Arizona.

LOOKING AHEAD

This week the team will focus on:
  • Completing the shooting range target fabrication (drill bits arriving, welding to follow)
  • Processing and following up with prioritized sales leads from ConExpo
  • Evaluating the 40-unit shade structure opportunity
  • Continuing to strengthen vendor relationships and optimize material sourcing
  • Finalizing the new product safety sticker designs for production rollout
Bear Iron Works continues to expand its product offerings and custom fabrication capabilities while maintaining the quality and lead times its customers depend on.
